Classified Details
Two hard-to-find silverplate serving pieces: a butter spreader and pierced olive spoon. In the "Adam" pattern introduced in 1917 by Oneida, the tableware company rooted in a utopian society founded in 1848. Engraved with a leaf, scroll, and swag on the handles (the monogram oval is blank). The knife blade has additional engraving of a swag with ribbons, medallions, and bellflowers. The delicate decoration reflects the enduring interest in the neo-classical style popularized by Scottish architect Robert Adam in the late 1700s. The restrained, classic look of these serving pieces works well with many types of tableware.

Well used but good condition. Surface scratches add to patina. Dings on spoon bowl.

Made by Oneida, New York (20th century)
Back marked: "Community Plate"
Knife: 7.325" L (blade 3.25" L)
Spoon: 5.75" L (bowl 1.625" L x 1" W)
