Here is a very fine rarely faceted labradorite where the gem rough was mined from the Smallwood Mine in Labrador, Canada! This gem displays an exceptional full spectrum of color (labradorescence) while the stone is orientated. Labradorite (named after peninsula of Labrador in Canada, where it was found) is a plagioclase feldspar and also known as Spetrolite. It shows/displays a schiller (labradorescence) in lustrous metallic tints, often blue and greens, although specimens of blue and stones with a complete spectrum are most desired & appreciated. Would make an exceptional stone for a jewelry piece or a ring/pendant. We have cabbed stones of the same exceptional quality for earrings or a cocktail ring.
