This phenomenal material was mined on the Kola Peninsula in Northwest Russia within the tundra surrounding the Khibiny Mountains. This is by far the best fire return in a Titanite (Sphene) that you can get from a natural gem, as this gem has fire greater than a diamond. "I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH TO YOU THAT THIS IS NOT A COMMONLY KNOWN GEM BUT A RARE COLLECTORS GEM, AND THE CHANCES OF FINDING ONE IN THE MARKET IS SLIME TO NONE, UNLESS YOU KNOW PEOPLE IN THE TRADE! THIS INDEED IS A INVESTMENT GEM! ((Titanite (sphene) is known for it's very strong fire (it's dispersion is higher than that of a diamond) and rich colors. Titanite (sphene) is strongly pleochroic (displaying three or more different colors as the stone is orientated) and has high birefraction (seen as doubling of the back facets) and a adamantine luster. Titanite is also called the Christmas stone because of the intense red, orange, green to yellowish green flash that comes from within the gem.)) Stones found to be over 1 carat are extremely rare in this species of gem and is highly prized by collectors and alike, guaranteed!!
