Country Grocer started in 1984 in Nanaimo and the first Victoria store opened 2 years later in Esquimalt. Since then, we have grown to serve 5 communities across Vancouver Island, adding an additional Nanaimo store as well as stores in Lake Cowichan, Cobble Hill, Royal Oak and Salt Spring Island.

SENIOR CLERK

You will be responsible for supervising a team of 25 - 30 team members and oversee the store in the Manager/Assistant Store Manager’s absence. This will involve ensuring that your team is performing all duties, assisting with inventory/stocking, and oversee all departments as required. You will also handle all customer complaints in a positive and timely manner.

What makes you a great candidate?

A minimum of 2 years of grocery leadership experience or 3 years of grocery experience
Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality
You are comfortable performing repetitive tasks and lifting heavy items on a regular basis
A forklift ticket would be highly desirable
Excellent customer service, time management, multitasking, and conflict resolution skills
An approachable personality, enthusiasm, and capacity to work as part of a team
