A family bible dated 1870, the property of "Rev. Samuel Dexter Morris" was sold at an estate sale last year on 5th Street in Austin. It was a smaller bible with a clasp on it. Samuel was born in 1815 in Portville, NY, the son of John Morris and Matilda Decker, and died in 1887 in Olean, NY. He was an itinerant Baptist minister in New York and Pennsylvania. The previous owner told me what is in the book, but she did not copy it down. There is critical family history, not only on his own family, but going back to Wales that I have not been able to find anywhere else in over 30 years of research. This is because Samuel's father, John, as a boy, was orphaned by and Indian attack, and no further information is available. I would like to buy the book or at least copy the family history pages. Please help me find it.
