At less than $1,900, you might think that the Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze5300 hardly belongs in a guide to power-user notebook PCs, but think again. With a 15-inch screen, FireWire port, three Universal Serial Bus 2.0 ports, support for IEEE 802.11g and a 2.66-GHz Pentium 4 processor, this is a formidable performer, near the top of the power-user category even though it comes in at the low end of prices. Windows XP Home Edition. 8 lbs. The only flaw with this laptop is that the space bar on the actual machine is disattached. I can't seem to re-attach it and have been using another keyboard (pictured).

I bought these computers a while back for my dad but he rarely gets any use out of them. They have quite a lot of life left in them and make a good bundle for home and office use. They would also make great bundle for home and to send your college student off with a more affordable option for a laptop.
