Kick off Valentine’s weekend by joining us for the "Heart of the Town" opening
reception featuring alternative process photography works by artist Jane Linders.
Linders travels outside the wake of the digital era by using more hands on
traditional photographic processes such as Polaroid transfers and cyanotypes.
The intrinsic qualities of these mediums lend themselves to spontaneous
exploration, allowing Linders to rework the images using her watercolors, colored
pencils, and intuition. Subject matter ranges from the oddities of roadside
Americana and the eerie beauty of cemeteries to x-rayed bones reconstructed
into visually intriguing alien still lives. Linders’ images possess a painterly quality
rich with mood and nuance absent from contemporary processes.
Jane Linders is an award-winning photographer whose prints appear in
numerous national and international collections. Linders has exhibited her work
everywhere from her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri to the Smithsonian
Museum in Washington D.C. She is a tireless image-maker, whose photos can
be seen in galleries, books, and magazines.
