Classified Details
We have a 12-week-old male kitten that we are no longer able to care for because of his special attention needs. Due to our recent money difficulties, he has not yet had his shots, nor has he been neutered. The new owner would need to be able to provide him with a vet checkup and shots. He is a good kitten, but is going to need a lot of time and love, and someone who is willing to work with him.

He is a very aggressive cat and has some pretty big dominance issues. We don’t have the time or ability to work with him, having another more mild-tempered kitten and a baby. He’s prone to biting and attacking when his dominance is threatened in any way, and doesn’t know how to control his temper with us, our son, or our other kitten.

He will most likely need to be in a house as opposed to an apartment, because he is very loud and also needs room to roam. He does not do well in small rooms, apartments, or other somewhat confined spaces. He may (maybe) do well with other older and bigger (and possibly more patient) cats, as they may be able to teach him his place, so to speak; otherwise, he just needs an owner who has experience with raising cats and has lots of time to work with him. He will NOT do well with younger cats, other small animals, dogs, or children. He is definitely an inside cat, as he is the type to run and never come back.

He IS a good cat. He’s friendly, social, he will cuddle, play, and entertain himself to some extent. We’re unaware of his past experiences and how he came out this way, as we got him from a now-unknown private owner. His new prospective owner would just need to be aware of his bouts of aggression and his seemingly extreme separation anxiety. He’s still very young and he will be a wonderful companion with a little work and patience.

We do love him and want him to go to a good, stable home, so if you are interested I will need to hear about your current living arrangements, your experience with cats, your cat setup (if any), and your general ability to take care of this particular cat, given his needs. Should you need to rehome him again for any reason, we will understand completely, but we ask that you return him to us to have us find another owner. It would make us feel better and we don’t mind. Please do not take him to any shelters or give him to an inadequate home.

There will be a $30 rehoming fee to cover his food and litter up until this point. I will send a small litter box with him (I have no idea if he will be territorial about using another cat’s litter box), what little food he has left, and his teddy bear, who he’s quite attached to.

Serious inquiries only, please. Sorry we have no pictures, but he is all black, short hair, with yellow/green eyes. I am willing to deliver anywhere in Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs. If we need to meet somewhere, the new owner will need to have a crate or carrier ready.

If you would be interested in taking him, please e-mail me with all of the information requested. Thanks a lot, and please take good care of him.
