| See how master painters and sculptors left their indelible marks on the history of art. From the brilliant works of 15th century genius Michelangelo to the thought provoking contributions of twentieth century nonconformist Picasso, this CD enthralls you with works of over 200 outstanding artists!
Art in one form or the other has always fascinated man. Early cave paintings and manuscripts bear witness to people's desire to give expression to their innermost feelings through art. With passage of time, art became more refined and the artists developed individual styles of expression that have become standards for today's students of art.
This CD delightfully strings together five centuries of artistically brilliant paintings and sculpture through crystal clear images that leave you wondering whether you are viewing the originals. The ability to zoom in presents you with the opportunity to examine these masterpieces in great detail and study the overall beauty of the images at the mere press of a button. Hundreds of paintings and sculptures, which represent the genius and hard work of over 200 artists par excellence, can be examined in a leisurely manner, which is not possible in art galleries.
In between the brilliant works of 16th century master Caravaggio and the thought-provoking and controversial style of modern day painter Guston, you will witness a treasure trove of art works from the best people in the business. These images are those of the world's most celebrated masterpieces. Commentaries provided with many of the paintings are helpful in identifying the artist and the period. The text is minimal but concise; the main focus is on the colorful works themselves.
EDITORIAL REVIEW:
Only exceptional foresight and rare insight could have prompted anybody to bring together such an astonishing collection of images of paintings and sculpture from master artists who enthralled the world with their genius between the 16th and 20th centuries.
This CD is invaluable in its contents, for where else could one view the best works of over 200 painters and sculptors at the mere press of a key? A kaleidoscope of landscapes, still life, portraits, frescos and sculptures seems to unfold in a never-ending stream as you browse through image after image of astonishing quality.
You will witness the outstanding paintings of Michelangelo da Caravaggio, who was a religious mystic, brutal criminal, ambitious careerist, and of course, brilliant painter. Polish artist Abakanowicz, whose works are included here began as a brilliant painter but later switched to sculptural works of great monumentality and expressiveness. The works of Francis Bacon (1909-1992), the eminent British painter known for his large, colorful, and grotesque paintings of the human body, are mesmerizing and thought provoking.
Equally fascinating are the works of renowned artists like William Blake, Lucian Freud the grandson of Sigmund Freud, Guston who deliberately adopted an unrefined comic-book style, Italian Master Raffaello Santi, Rossetti who was torn between his twin loves of poetry and painting, and Ucello, most of whose paintings have been destroyed or are in poor condition. Ucello's works are notable for their rich, decorative panoply, for their solid, wooden toy like figures and for the experiments he made in foreshortening.
No collection of masterpieces can, however, be complete without the works of the 15th century Italian genius Michelangelo Buonarroti, and this CD gives full credit to the master by including 37 of his best works.
This editorial merely skims the surface of the wealth of artistic treasure that is presented in this CD. I was thrilled, amazed, bewitched, enchanted and informed by the wonderful imagery that delights the mind in this fabulously compiled CD. I am certain that it will have a similar effect on anybody who has the opportunity to own and view its contents. |
