"When in Rome" (1952)(dvd-R) I am offering a transfer of my master-save of this UNreleased on dvd charming crook & priest pairing movie. My master I use for transfers is my dvd-r save from cable channel that airs movies commercial free. I send dvd-r in a dvd slimcase w/simple artsheet insert. Media Mail shipping is free and includes USPS Delivery Confirmation tracking. Look at pictures as I have added screen cap pics from my first hand save so can see that it is nice :) BUT PLEASE NOTE: I have also added camera pictures showing Aspect Ratio choices we have on our tv ... BECAUSE... unbeknownst to me at the time, due to my dvd settings the movie seems to have been recorded in widescreen. When we choose FULL & JUST Aspect Ratio on our tv the picture looks like letterbox/widescreen, we can choose 4:3 square picture setting too but as can see in picture that does not make the top & bottom letterboxing disappear, ONLY when we choose ZOOM Aspect Ration setting is the film shown in totally full screen w/out the letterboxing look. So only choose if okay with this info I have honestly disclosed!

Synopsis: During the Vatican Holy Year of 1950, confidence trickster Joe Brewster (Paul Douglas) disguises himself as a priest and heads to the Holy City. It is Brewster's intention to use his faux clerical garb to evade arrest by the American authorities. But through the influence of American priest Father John (Van Johnson), Brewster experiences an epiphany and changes his ways. Reverent to a fault, When in Rome could have been insufferably saccharine, but the no-nonsense performances of Paul Douglas and Van Johnson carry the day. Enhancing the film is producer-director Clarence Brown's decision to lens much of the story on location in Rome and Vatican City. {amg}
