Country Grocer started in 1984 in Nanaimo and the first Victoria store opened 2 years later in Esquimalt. Since then, we have grown to serve 5 communities across Vancouver Island, adding an additional Nanaimo store as well as stores in Lake Cowichan, Cobble Hill, Royal Oak and Salt Spring Island.

BAKER

We’re seeking a team-oriented individual to work in our fast-paced environment and prepare high-quality baked goods in a timely, efficient and consistent manager.

What makes you a great candidate?

A minimum of 2 years’ previous scratch bakery experience
Red Seal certification or working towards certification would be considered an asset
The capability to start as early as 4:00am and work with minimal supervision
The ability to lift heavy items on a regular basis
Excellent customer service, time management and multitasking skills
A strong attention to detail and a passion for baking
Food Safe certification is an asset, otherwise, you will be required to obtain upon successful hire with cost covered by Country Grocer
Enthusiasm and capacity to work as part of a team
