FIRST OF ALL, NATURAL RUBY-ZOISITE OR OTHERWISE CALLED ANYOLITE BY THE LOCAL MASAI IN TANZANIA, AFRICA, IS A MIX (BLEND) OF GREEN ZOISITE (MINERAL SPECIES WHERE TANZANITE DERIVES FROM) AND RED CORUNDUM (RUBY) WHICH MAKES SUCH BEAUTIFUL & PHENOMENAL CARVINGS & CABS INCLUDING CUT LONGIDO RUBY'S!
Here is a truly World Class, magnificent natural "untreated" ruby-zoisite Kuanyin "Goddess of Mercy" gem carving mined from the Longido mines in Northeast Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro where the Tanzanite mines are. The Longido mines are renowned for it's very fine top color green zoisite, ruby-zoisite & longido ruby's. Due to ruby-zoisites (anyolite) color contrast, it is an effective gem and ornamental stone and is highly prized as such. -- THIS MATERIAL WAS ACQUIRED IN 2004 AT THE LONGIDO MINES IN NORTHEAST TANZANIA AND CUT IN THAILAND BY A CLOSE FRIEND WHO LIVES THEIR. -- We are talking a absolutely very fine & very intricate gem carving & a whopping 1840 carat weight (368 grams)! This gem carving has a remarkable distinct green zoisite (with common black hornblende inclusions) separation from the red corundum (ruby) in a remarkable manner, as this just tells you right their alone what exceptional orientation & cutting skills were used in making this world class gem carving by my close friend!! Exceptional face up appearance and a very gemmy eye appeal!! --- **This is a natural solid gem carving, not a manufactured or resin molded carvings**
