Thomas D. Mangelsen
Framed Mother’s Love " Polar Bears fine art poster
Under glass
Poster is 24" W x 36" H
Frame is 26 3/16" W x 39 3/8" H
Purchased and framed at Mangelsen’s Images of Nature gallery in California for $165.
My photo of this picture does not do it justice. It is so crystal clear, it’s like looking out a window onto the scene.
The image was photographed at Hudson Bay, Churchill, Manitoba, Canada
Nuzzling their mother while she dozes in the scant warmth of the November arctic sun, a pair of polar bear cubs wait for their first winter on the ice. While other bears leave to hunt for seals on the ice, pregnant females wait behind to dig a den in the wind-packed snow.
Mangelsen's work has been published in National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Life, Audubon, National Wildlife, Smithsonian, Natural History, Newsweek, American Photo, Nature's Best Photography and many other publications. His work is in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.
