Suntone is a feldspar, and while feldspar's are found all over the world, they are rarely gem grade. Central Oregon is one of the few places where this type of feldspar is found in gem grade and large enough to cut stones for jewelry.
Here is a premier parcel of Oregon facet cab sunstone gem rough mined from the sunstone gem feilds approx. 20 miles north of the tiny town of Plush, Oregon. Blocky pieces ranging from 11ct to 36ct pieces yielding SI to VS cut stones on a conservative level. This gem parcel would make an excellent parcel for a lapidary, jeweler, amateur jewelry maker, gem collector or that novice beginner wanting to start with a very unique gem collection/specimens (gemstones that were mined & cut from the good ole USA)! These sunstones display an impressive golden yellow (often refereed to as a straw yellow or champagne color in the trade) w/ no schiller seen with the naked eye. Excellent face up appearance & a very gemmy eye appeal!
