 | ADAMS MOTORS - The Whole Nine Yards for Advanced Builders
Up for sale is an actual working Adams Motor or a DVD with four months of portions of the Vancouver Amateur Inventors & Gadgeteers club covering the theory, building, and testing of advanced Adams motors. The "advanced" adjective refers to the addition of back-EMF energy recovery. The test methodology shown is probably the most cost-effective ever devised.
What is an Adams motor? Where can it be applied? This type of permanent-magnet motor is extremely efficient and appears to deliver power that several times greater than standard DC motors. Its characteristics make it most suitable for constant-speed operations in the 900-3000 RPM range, such as air-handling operations.
In these club meeting videos, you will actually see a resistor on the circuit go colder than ambient, as tested with an infrared thermometer that does not require reflectivity compensation (i.e. its readings are absolute accurate. Only one manufacturer makes an IR thermometer with this technology.)
Who should buy this Adams Magnet Motor or its video? Someone who is seriously making, possibly for mass-production, very high efficiency motors, similar to the legendary 19-watt 1HP (one horse-power) motors made by a Japanese inventor for fans. One news report stated that he sold 50,000 motors for use as exhaust fans.
Can this material be understood by a layperson or non-engineer? Yes, but only if you already have a good foundation of electromagnetism and electronics.
What is the "back-EMF" aspect? We thought of, and made a "back-EMF enhanced Adams motor" that you'll see on the video. I can't describe it without revealing too much. You'll have to buy the video DVD for this information.
Why are we offering this? It is hoped that this information will reduce our need for energy. We are convinced that this information will help people and organizations create the most efficient motors possible.
We do not claim overunity. It is problematic to put a small model like this on a dynometer. However, when I put my hand on the spinning motor, its torque seems to be much more powerful than a standard DC motor that is drawing the same watts.
