FIRST OF ALL, NATURAL RUBY-ZOISITE OR OTHERWISE CALLED ANYOLITE BY THE LOCAL MASAI IN TANZANIA, IS A MIX (BLEND) OF GREEN ZOISITE (MINERAL SPECIES WHERE TANZANITE DERIVES FROM) AND RED CORUNDUM (RUBY) WHICH MAKES SUCH BEAUTIFUL & PHENOMENAL CARVINGS & CABS INCLUDING CUT LONGIDO RUBY'S
THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE BOGUS MOLDED GEM CARVINGS YOU SEE ALL OVER EBAY, AS THIS IS A SOLID RUBY-ZOISITE GEM CARVING!!
Here is a spectacular natural "untreated" ruby-zoisite (90% solid ruby) 2 birds on a branch/limb carving mined from the Longido mines in Northeast Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro where the Tanzanite mines are. The Longido mines are renown for it's top color ruby-zoisite & longido ruby's. ((THIS MATERIAL WAS ACQUIRED IN 2004 AT THE LONGIDO MINES IN NORTHEAST TANZANIA AND CUT IN THAILAND BY AN ASSOCIATE OF OURS WHO LIVES THEIR.)) We are talking a absolutely gorgeous & very cute top gem carving here my fellow members! This gem has a remarkable green zoiste blended with longido ruby, remarkable luster, excellent face up and eye appeal!
