Stitches in Time The art and History of Embroidery
Hilda Kassell

The author traces the history of our country through the illustrated stories that were embroidery on samplers. For instance, a most interesting map was done by one child, who left the western section of America blank, with the simple words" Parts Unknown".

Space ships and satellites decorate many of today's samplers, but the delights of creating them remain the same. To help encourage this fascinating hobby, easy to follow directions and a clearly illustrated dictionary of the best known stitches can be found in the second part of this book.

CONDITION Used library book stamped discard. Has the usual library markings. The inside cover page has had a pocket pealed off and shows pocket paper residue. The plastic dust jacket cover has scratches. The spine is tight and the book is in good condition
