Synopsis:
Stark Raving Mad is the name of a short-lived NBC sitcom that aired from 1999-2000. It starred Tony Shalhoub as eccentric horror novelist Ian Stark, who is obsessed with practical jokes; Neil Patrick Harris as Stark's reluctant editor Henry McNeeley, who suffers from a variety of phobias and possibly obsessive-compulsive disorder; and Eddie McClintock, in a supporting role as Jake Donovan. The sitcom premiered on September 23, 1999 and was officially cancelled by NBC on April 15, 2000. After the show's cancellation Shalhoub moved on to a starring role in the TV series Monk -- a role not unlike Harris's role in Stark Raving Mad & Harris went to star in How I Met Your Mother on CBS!

Margaret 'Maddie' Keller was to be played by Jessica Cauffiel as she appears in several early cast photos. In other countries the series was re-named; Stark Raving Mad (USA, France), Stark, loco de atar (Spain), Männer ohne Nerven (Germany) and Kreisi kynäniekka (Finland).
On January 10, 2000 the sitcom won a People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Comedy Series. |
