Here is a magnificent mookaite perched dragon carving mined from Mooka Creek, in the Kennedy Ranges near Gascoyne Junction, some 100 miles inland from Carnarvon on the coast of Western Australia. We are talking a really top gem carving here my fellow members that was carved from one solid piece of mookaite! This top gem carving has a magnificent array of colors that will dazzle you and your guest many times over! This gem carving is a gem piece that will catch any ones attention! Remarkable face up, super eye appeal with intricate artwork. ((Mookaite, also referred to and incorrectly called mookite, mookalite, mookerite, mook, mook jasper, moukaite, moakite, moukalite & mouakite, is a type of jasper found in Australia. This beautiful gem carving displays colors of reddish-browns, gold, white, mauvey-pinks and yellows mixed in broad patterns. These wide range of colors are actually finely-divided minerals of clay and iron oxide within this mookaite gemstone. Mookaite, just like jasper, is a chalcedony, silicate mineral from the quartz group of minerals.))
