American Kennel Club AKC is the only registry that requires DNA test results on file to protect the integrity of the breed. It means the breeder cannot monkey with the paperwork. The Test fee pays the salary of a field inspector that comes unannounced to inspect kennels for proper food, water, shelter, cleanliness, random DNA test of pups, and accurate paperwork. The buyer can prove who the parents are with a DNA test. If you get involved with a bad breeder, the AKC is all you have to complain to. Complaints lead to loss of registration privledges.
