A VERY ATTRACTIVE PIECE FOR SETTING IN A PIECE OF JEWELRY ONCE CUT, A CARVING, KNAPPING, OR AS IS AS A DECORATIVE STONE!
Here is indeed a very rare phenomenal golden sheen mahogany obsidian rough mined in the vicinity of Real Del Monte, State of Hildalgo, Mexico. This piece has a flat cut bottom so that it free stands for a excellent cabinet specimen. ((Mexico and a few places in the USA (Arizona, Oregon, California, Utah etc.) is well known for their top blue/violet sheen, rainbow color (like the Jalsico obsidian) & snowflake, not seen from to many other localities.)) Most obsidian material is a grayish brown or dense black, but this massive has a world class color and a phenomenal face up appearance and very gemmy eye appeal. Would cut a lot of top end, interesting & very unique cabochons, a carving, a knapped item, or a decorative stone as is. Would make a special stone for a lapidary to cut or even carve a nice gem figurine/carving or two, but especially excellent for those creative & very talented knappers out there! I love this material, it really is truly amazing and scarce!
