Bookstore
For Sale- ENORMOUS Book and Record Collection located in Southwest Florida- $500,000 takes the entire collection! This is an opportunity of a lifetime...

There are roughly 100,000 books from the early 1800's to the present, and roughly 100,000 records, mostly from the 1950's to the late 1980's. (There is also the opportunity to buy the real estate separately).

I am selling the records and books as a whole lot (about 200,000 units altogether, for the price of $500,000). I estimate the entire collection to be worth well over $3,500,000+ at retail. This also incudes a HUGE rare stamp collection, magazines, and some sheet music.

BUT.... I am also willing to sell the 15,000 books that I have already cataloged and on a database, separately. This part of the book collection is truly awesome and (Internet) ready to go. Almost every book in this part of the collection is a first edition. Also, almost every book is a hardcover, and nicely covered in mylar to protect the dust jackets. The database is cataloged on Home Base (computer program) and can easily be uploaded to numerous online bookseller websites, and instantly be producing income. The database took several years to compile, and the mylar on each book has also taken considerable time to do. The books are mostly pristine and have had the utmost care given to them. They are all very clean, with no defects to them (ie foxing, mildew, etc). There aren't any bad books in this collection. It's definitely a great opportunity. I will sell the database and all of the books (which are all numbered) for $200,000 firm. Also, if interested, I can sell the rights to the name of the business (separately). I have a brick and mortar business in Fort Myers, Florida, and I can arrange a time to show the collection for those who are seriously interested. This rare opportunity will not last long.

For links to see videos of the collection (and of the real estate) go to:

Google Video and type: "Echo Vintage Books & Vinyl"

The videos (which are a little grainy) give a pretty good idea of what the inventory is like inside the store.

Again, I am most interested in selling this incredible record and book collection as a whole, but may consider selling the records separately.
The record collection is broken down as follows;

There are approximately 100,000+ records (this is a conservative estimate).

Of those:
70,000 are 12" LP's (and have an average retail value of $15 each) Of course the rarer ones are into the $100's
Roughly (in relation to the 12" LP's):
-75% of them are in VG+ to NM- condition (I grade conservatively)
-20% of them are between VG- to VG
-5% of them are in the G to G+ range (I don't pay attention to these)
25,000 to 30,000 are 45's (with an average retail value of $5 each) Again, some are $2 retail and others can go into the $100's
10,000 are 78's (with an average retail value of $5 each)
And approx. 350 are 10" LP's (with an average retail of about $20 each)

I figure that the whole (vinyl) collection is conservatively valued at about $1,400,000 Retail. I haven't even considered what to sell it at if I sell the records seperately. Again, I will entertain any reasonable offers. The records are not on a database so I would take that into consideration as well.

Approximately 15% of the books are on the database (I described above). That represents about 15,000 books (the other 75,000 are not). The other 75,000 books are really incredible, and 80% of them are extremely rare and out of print. There are numerous complete sets dating back to the 1800's, original handwritten manuscripts, hundreds of signed books, and much too much to describe! The bookshelves and anything book-related is also included in the sale.

My wife and I have to decided to retire (which is why we prefer to sell the collection as a whole). And at $500,000 it is a true steal.

Thank you for your interest, please feel free to email me if you have any further questions.
