Our Goal:
TO contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by dogs and their families. We believe that everyone is happier when our dogs are well mannered. We believe this applies to all dogs of all sizes and all breeds.
Our Services:
BOTH basic and corrective training/treatment for behaviour problems for all ages, sizes and breeds of dogs.
APPROACHES:
Positive Techniques: Trainers are knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of Applied Behaviour Analysis including positive reinforcement, shaping, clicker training, desensitization and much, much more. Aversive approaches (other than occasional reprimands) are avoided.
Communicative: Dog 'whispering' techniques teach us to listen to our dogs and to 'speak' to them in language they understand. This is an intrinsic part of our work, maximizing the dogs' security, comfort, happiness, motivation for pleasing and ease of learning.
Individualized: Leash Ends provides only individual training. We work with the owner (or family) and its dog. We do not offer classes. We come to you and work in your environment. Dogs, like all of us, learn more easily when teaching is individualized and in familiar, comfortable surroundings.
Both Leash Ends: We work intensively with the both owner/family and the dog. Our trainer will work with the dog primarily only when developing a comprehensive approach to correcting behaviour problems. Once that had been accomplished, and in all cases of basic training, we work with the owner/dog couple (or family). This way we ensure that owners leave us with the skills to maintain and improve upon their dogs' security, comfort and learning lifelong.
Cost: $50.00 / session (typical length = 1 hour)
Number of sessions required varies. Typically they are relatively often at first but reduce in frequency quickly as the family and dog increase in skills. Significant "home work" is required between training sessions.
Occasionally shorter sessions are more effective. If that occurs, and depending on travel required, price may be renegotiated.
