This type of art desk was patented Oct 20. 1885 & Nov 15. 1895, and made by Lewis E. Myers & Co., Producers and Exclusive Distributors, Valparaiso, Indiana.

This desk was created to be an aid when instructing children and is comprised of a folding tabletop with hinges, a green chalkboard, and a scroll with knobs on the side showing different graphics for learning. There is also a worn map, which adds to its authenticity.
