 | | Description: Money-back Guarantee! 1961 Goya R80 made by Swedish guitar maker Hagstrom for Hershman Musical Instruments of New York. One of the rarest Hagstrom electrics, Hagstrom produced only 370 R80s for Goya. This R80 is in spectacular condition, very little playwear, and our technician cleaned and checked the pickup unit, and all electronics work properly. Clear acrylic fretboard over pearloid-faced mahogany neck, back and sides, and of course, an incredible red glitter sparkle finish. Comes with an original softshell case, unopened April Wine CD, and an excellent condition April Wine album and cover. Fabulous album cover art on the back of the album. It is all original, except for the tuners, which the previous owner swapped out for Schallers. (Fortunately, once we located originals, we can swap back and the Schaller screw holes will be covered. Unfortunately, we don’t have the originals. Note: if you know where I can locate a pair of correct Hagstrom or Goya tuners, please alert me.) Since the original softshell case is pretty flimsy, I located this mint condition vintage FenderŪ MustangŪ case, and it is a terrific fit. This guitar really needs a decent home from now on, and I would prefer to ship in the FenderŪ case, so just add $100 to the total if you want the whole package with the MustangŪ case. The R stands for Red, the 80 for concert size Catalogue information • Pickup-Model P24 pickup • The complete unit may be unplugged by loosening the four corner screws. • Model P24 has the special “Solo-accompaniment” feature. • Magneto-dynamic Ticonal magnets made of highest Quality Swedish blue steel • Off button, High (Treble) for upper pickup, Low (Bass) for upper pickup • Safety Release button (returns all buttons to default) • Tone and Volume control wheels • Pickups are balanced, which means no volume compensation adjustment is necessary when switching from high pickup to low pickup or vice-versa. The tone control is self compensating when changing tone. The volume automatically changes to keep the level constant. • Contoured Speed-o-matic Fingerboard “The world’s fastest and smoothest fingerboard. Like running your fingers Along Velvet” • Reinforced neck with metal adjustable “H” trussrod • Stainless steel frets • Unique new sparkling colour combinations • Ingenious pickholder • Fully adjustable compensating bridge allows for three way fine tuning • Nickel plated hardware • All wood hollow body interior construction • Top bout width 9 and 3/8 inches • Bottom bout width 10 1/8 inches • Body Length 17 inches • Body depth 2.5 inches • Weight five lbs 4 ounces without the pickup. • In 1959, the Goya catalogue priced the R80 with the P24 pickup at $219.50. • Soft shell chipboard case $10.
