 | | Offered for sale is this rare Frankoma Glaze #10 Onyx Black Small Indian Head Plaque Test Piece. It measures 3 3/4" tall and is marked in pencil FRANKOMA and I can't make out all the other markings.I believe this piece to be a first firing at the Supulpa Kiln. Since the color looks to have Ada Clay and Supulpa Clay.Would have been made around 1940, Mr. Frank gave the master mold of the indian chief and maiden to the Creek Indian Nation in 1975, so no more pieces will be made. The piece is in Very good condition with only a couple of scuffs in the glaze.The last picture of 2 heads is for size reference only. the brown head has already been sold, so Feel free to ask questions. | |
