Woodstock is presented in a "floating matte" widescreen format preserving the aspect ratio of it’s original theatrical presentation.
The matte adjusts from 1.85:1 to 2.36:1 depending upon the single- double- or triple image composition. The black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are normal for this format. Side five, featuring Jimi Hendrix’s performance and the conclusion of the festival, is presented in the CAV Full Feature format.
