Quad City Wind Ensemble 2016 Spring Concert "To Infinity and Beyond"

The 30th season of the Quad City Wind Ensemble concludes Sunday, May 1, 2016 with a concert at 3:00 p.m. in Allaert Auditorim located in the Galvin Fine Arts Center, St. Ambrose University, 518 W. Locust St, Davenport, 52803. Admission is FREE for this concert! This is thanks to the sponsorship of the Kannenberg family. There will be a reception immediately following the concert with free refreshments and homemade treats.

The QCWE is conducted by Brian L. Hughes, 2015 winner of the American Prize in Wind Band Conducting (School and Community Division).

This concert is titled, To Infinity and Beyond and will include The Big Country by Jerome Moross, Where Never Lark Or Eagle Flew by James Curnow, Galactic Empires, by David Gillingham, Mars, the Bringer of War by Gustav Holst, Moonscape Awakening by Joni Greene, Selections from E.T. by John Williams and The Carnival of Venice by Jean Baptiste Arban featuring as soloist, the winner of our concerto competition, Jacy Betzel, a freshman trumpet player at United Township High School in East Moline, IL.

The QCWE was founded in 1987 by Dr. Charles B. DCamp of St. Ambrose University, and has become one of the finest adult bands in the nation. In 2012 the QCWE was the Community Division winner of The American Prize in Band/Wind Ensemble Performance.
