Lumber & Turning Wood For Sale
I have a fair amount of wood for sale. This is primarily Texas Honey Mesquite but I often have other local Texas woods, including Pecan, Eastern Red Cedar, Osage Orange, Black Cherry and Huisach. This wood is generally available in turning blocks, but I also have some in table slabs and 4/4 lumber.
All of the turning wood is green to partially air-dried. The ends are sealed to resist checking. Most of the wood is rough cut with no surface planing. Many of the bowl blocks are sold with bark on the outside for the turning of natural-edge bowls, if desired.
The Honey Mesquite and Osage Orange are particularly well suited for turning. The wood cuts cleanly with little tear-out, polishes well to a superb finish and has bark that adheres well when turned as a natural-edge piece. The grain of even an ordinary piece of wood is beautiful and in many instances, it is absolutely gorgeous.
