 | This long, sweeping historical drama directed by Mervyn LeRoy won multiple Academy Awards, including a Supporting Actress Oscar for Gale Sondergaard (her only win, in her first film), and was nominated for Best Picture. Fredric March is great, as usual, in the title role opposite Olivia de Havilland. Donald Woods, Anita Louise, Edmund Gwenn, Claude Rains, Akim Tamiroff, and Henry O'Neill also appear.
