A Quick Little History On The Verner Panton S Chair:
*The idea for the plastic stackable chair was first though up by none other than Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a German architect and furniture designer. Panton also had a dream of making a plastic chair with a stackable design with a cantilever design. The design is said to be inspired from seeing a stacked pile of neat plastic buckets. In 1956, Panton took the first steps in making the plastic stackable chair design starting with the S Chair. The chair was first produced in 1965. In 1999, the original chairs later began to be made of polypropylene.*
