6-1/4" Russel Wright Sterling China Floral Woodrose Saucer.

Mid Century Modern.

Soft white background with a terra cotta floral pattern on one side. Unusal in that is is very thick, sculptural, raised. On the bottom stamped into the clay: STERLING CHINA BY RUSSEL WRIGHT. No cracks or chips. Very good condition. According to another ebay member and long time Russel Wright collector, in 1949 Sterling approached Russel Wright to do the ware for them but then added their own decorative patterns. Hence the name Russel Wright still is marked, but he had no control over the decorative glazes.
