 | I HAVE 12 (1-D0ZEN) 1928 SERIES-C $2 BILLS THAT MY GRANDFATHER CARRIED CONTINUALLY IN HIS WALLET; FROM CASHING HIS FIRST "WELFARE CHECK IN THE 1929 CRASH", UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 1964 IN DAYTON, OHIO.
THEY HAVE BEEN FRAMED AND STAYED IN THIS FRAME SINCE HIS DEATH AND ARE "GOOD-CIRCULATED BILLS"
THEY DO HAVE THE RED SEAL AS WELL AS THE RED SERIAL NUMBERS.
How much is A 1928 $2 Bill worth? the series and the grade of the note. Series 1928 and 1928C are the better notes IF THEY HAVE BOTH THE RED SEAL AND RED SERIAL NUMBERS.
They would range from $30.00-$40.00 EACH in USED condition to $200.00 EACH in gem uncirculated condition.
PLEASE LOOK AT PHOTOS, AND THANK-YOU FOR CONSIDERING!!
----NOTE: THESE 12 ARE BEING SOLD--TOGETHER ONLY FOR THE POSTED PRICE; AND ARE "CASH ONLY!!!"--------------------
Retail prices as of 10/2009:
No letter:
"A" : $50 in average condition, $80 if nicer. Uncirculated ones sell for $275 or more.
"B" : $70 - $175; Uncirculated $1000+
"C" : $30 - $40 AVERAGE CONDITION, $50-$60 IF NICER. Uncirculated $200+
Two-dollar bills have been issued by the United States in one form or another since 1862 and still exist as Federal Reserve Notes, though they are not commonly circulated. As collectors' items, they have a wide variety of values depending on age, condition, rarity and collector demand. | |
