GI's new Digital Satellite Receiver ushers in an entirely new era in C-Band satellite television. Equiped with General Instrument's MPEG-2 digital compression technology, 4DTV opens up a "superset" of programming choices for the consumer, in video, audio, interactive multimedia, and data.
4DTV FEATURES
More than 700 Channels and growing-as a result of its virtually unlimited bandwidth. Free digital, free analog, scrambled MPEG-2 digital programming, scrambled analog programming, and radio channels.
The 4DTV Has A Sharp, clear digital (digicipher 2 tech: This is what the CABLE GUYS use) picture quality combined with Dolby Digital sound (Dolby Digital is the standard for future HDTV broadcasts in the US.)
Four data ports:
-High speed data port for PC and modem access-for interactive video games and internet access at "warp" speed. (Satellite modems - coming soon - will allow 4DTV to download data and engage in the future of interactive services, at a rate 1,000 times faster than a 28.8 computer modem in your current PC.)

Interactive Program Guide - Quickly see what programming is available for the next seven days. Guide can be viewed as full screen with 6 channel entries or a Mini Guide with 2 channel entries. Color-coded grid and icons help identify program types.
Themes Guide Search - Sort the guide by one of many favorite themes such as sports or movies.
Themes Channel Surfing - Channel surf by one of many favorite themes such as sports or movies.
Program Information Banners - Program title and selected information automatically displays when changing channels on the 4DTV.
Favorite Channel Setting - Develop two favorite channel lists for instant access. Add virtually an unlimited number of channels to these lists.
Quick Information - Display detailed information about any program with one touch. Information includes: movie descriptions, ratings, actors, interactive services support and much more on the 4DTV display.
Parental Control - Block out unwanted channels and set both MPAA and content ratings limits for programs. Password can be set for access control on the 4DTV receiver.
