The Capture
A young barn owl named Soren lives peacefully with his family, enjoying legends about the knightly Guardians of Ga'Hoole. After he falls from his nest, his idyllic world transforms into one of confusion and danger, as he is captured by evil chick-snatching owls and taken to the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls. It will take all of Soren's courage to escape!
The Journey
Soren and his friends have escaped from the St. Aegolius Academy, and they go in search of the mythical Great Ga'Hoole Tree. When they finally arrive at the tree, they find themselves divided into teams to receive special training in skills like flight, navigation, and search and rescue. At the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, Soren discovers that he has some extraordinary powers.
The Rescue
Now that Soren has been reunited with his sister, he must face his next challenge: making sense of the mysterious disappearance of his mentor, Ezylryb. When Soren discovers that Ezylryb is in danger, he and his friends Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger devise a plan to save their teacher. Along the way, Soren must fight a terrifying foe who wears a metal beak sharpened for battle. It's not until the fight is over that Soren discovers the true identity of his opponent.
