The Norwex Magnet Ball is a money-saving device that removes calcium molecules from the water by magnetically attracting them to the inside of the ball. This action makes the water behave as though it was "soft".

The premise of the device is that because soft water requires less detergent, you will save money on detergent in your dishwasher and washing machine if you put the Magnet Ball in at the start of a dishwasher or washing machine cycle.

Norwex says, "When using the ball, you use 50%-70% less soap."
