Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers
Rare Oakland Athletics Autographed Regulation size hat,
Signed by Vida Blue and Rollie Fingers

Rollie Fingers' 17-year career epitomized the emergence of the modern-day relief ace. After watching him post inconsistent results as a starter, the A's moved Fingers to the bullpen. He excelled quickly and frequently in his new role. Relying on a sharp slider, Fingers went on to notch 341 career saves. Known for his handlebar mustache, Fingers became a familiar site during the post-season, appearing in 16 World Series games. He won both the American League MVP and Cy Young Award with the Brewers in 1981. Did You Know... that Rollie Fingers won the 1974 World Series Most Valuable Player Award with one win and two saves for the
World Champion Oakland A's?

Vida Blue signed with the Athletics at age 19. He was called up to the A's late in 1970. On September 21, 1970, he no-hit the Twins, who narrowly edged the Athletics for the division title. As a sophomore, Blue won 17 games by the All-Star break, then was the winning pitcher in the only All-Star game won by the American League between 1962 and 1983, when the NL was 19-1. Blue finished 1971 at 24-8, with 301 strikeouts in 312 innings. Though bombed in the ALCS by Baltimore, he was named both
MVP and Cy Young award winner.

I will throw in an authentic Boston Red Sox hat as well.

These items come from an estate. The deceased had been an avid collector of all things sports related for the past 25 -30 years. I can attest to this as the widow has given me the task of selling over 60 banker boxes full of sports memorabilia, some autographed and some not.
Thanks for your interest.

Birthdays are coming! What a great gift these hats would make for the sports collector in your home!
