 | Hi, I have some sophisticated battery CAPACITY testers and can test your CAR, TRUCK, FORKLIFT, MARINE, TELECOMMUNICATIONS, UPS, BOAT, RV, and even ELECTRIC CAR and ELECTRIC SCOOTER batteries in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, including going to a marina where your power or sailboat may be docked.
I'll test any 12V lead acid battery, for that matter.
FYI, you cannot tell the capacity with a voltmeter (multimeter). So, before you throw out you old 12V battery, consider letting me test it. I charge a fee because I have burned out several $800 battery testers in previous years. There is also a health risk (danger) while testing batteries -- a short or spark could cause a mushroom cloud over the battery. So, please don't ask me to test your battery for free, even though my battery test equipment was bought as a hobby.
I have a PORTABLE temperature-compensated electronic load tester that can brought aboard a sailboat easily, for example.
In addition, I also have one of those [rare] "Battery Conductance Tester" devices for testing several batteries, to see which one(s) are 'off the mark'. This is usually used to weed out bad batteries when a Capacity Tester cannot find the faulty unit(s) in a lineup of batteries.
I charge $75/hour plus travel for my services.

(Please don't send me email.)
BTW: If you have an electric car or pickup, you should consider getting a battery analyzer to determine if any of your batteries have become weaker than the rest. However, a $30 battery analyzer isn't precise enough. A good battery tester will cost up to $1,000 and still not be accurate for the type of batteries you have! Please see my other listing for battery analyzer info.
ANECDOTE: In 1999, my life was affected by a book titled, "Divorce Your Car" written by a woman living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Because of her book, I got rid of my gasser car at the time and got some electric bikes and a scooter (popular with Google founders and Spielberg.) That was the beginning of my hobby of battery-powered transportation. |
