From Valerie in California: "Since about the time I was 16 I have had extremely painful periods, which include fevers, vomiting and insomnia. The first day my period would begin I would always miss that day of work and stay in bed crying and crippled from the pain.
I have never known anyone that gets the pain as bad as I have. I went to the doctor about this because it was so unbearable and he put me on birth control pills to handle the pain. The birth control pills didn't stop the pain but it made it bearable enough to get out of bed for about half the day when accompanied by Midol and Tylenol (but still very painful).
I tried switching through about 5 different types of birth control pills with different levels of hormones but nothing got rid of the pain. I took painkillers that weren't strong enough to numb the pain and got a stronger prescription which still was not strong enough.
I went to vitamin stores like GNC for supplements, and I went to a Nutritional Therapist which also didn't handle the problem.
I was on the verge of going back to the doctor for a stronger painkiller prescription, but first I decided to try taking the Painful Menstruation pills.
