 | Heres a classic monster of a synth thats in almost every serious keyboardist and pro studio today that brings its own unique sound .
There is tons of support for this keyboard there are a few websites dedicated to the JD-800 that include patches, an editor, and other information. One of the most powerful and tactile synthesizers ever made. This synth has so much depth it seems like you have to be an engineer to fully realize its' power. Generally each patch is made up of four tones. Each tone can be selected individually and manipulated by all the sliders on the front panel. There is also a "special setup" that is a key map, mostly used for assigning drum sounds to individual keys. In single mode each patch can chain up to seven effects. In Multi Mode you can choose, reverb, delay, reverb & chorus, & reverb & delay. There are four outs, two bypass the effects portion. The JD-800 responds to "Breath Control Messages" and be set to receive other message associated with Wind Controllers like the Casio DH-100 or Yamaha WX-5. The DH-100 sends Aftertouch instead of breath messages but the JD-800 can be set to receive Aftertouch and Velocity in the Breath settngs field.
The Guitar sounds on this machine are pretty incredible and plugging in a MIDI Guitar like the Casio MG-510 [A 'Strat' type guitar with a built in MIDI interface, tuner and Humbucker" pickups] gives you the control you need to play MIDI guitar sounds. The "Wailing Guitar" literally screams!
Also this JD800 was used on the Sinbad's First Annual Summer Jam & 70's Soul Music Festival used by the ohio players band . The board does have some blemishes that are light due to its age and use from the tour and it sat in my studio and was played constant everything works the sliders are good and yes everything lights up and it just recent had a eternal battery replace as well ...Sadly, I have decided to part with it one of my beloved collection of goodies. Everything is already boxed up, so I can't accommodate any gear demos.
Let me add that this is not some crack fix fire or pawn shop sale...so save you low ball offers, please as stated this was a on tour piece of gear with a some few blemishes and at the price i am selling it is a steal and ebay is selling them way above the price .
