| Rocking Horse – handcrafted from solid oak
My dad is a retired Texan, and he does a bit of woodworking out in his garage woodshop. He spends his time making some really neat projects, but he doesn’t have the time or interest in trying to sell them. So I’m helping him out – I think he does a very nice bit of woodworking. This hand-crafted rocking horse would make a great Christmas present for your children or grandchildren!
Here’s how he describes his rocking horse:
This Classic Rocking Horse is an heirloom toy sure to please children for generations to come. It is crafted of solid red oak with a mane and tail of REAL sorrel horse hair. That bright shiny eye is made of Texas Mesquite. The rocking horse is sized for most children of 1 to 4 years of age. It stands 26" high with a floor-to-seat height of 18". The overall length of the rockers is 43 inches, and the rockers are recurved on the ends to resist overturning by an enthusiastic rider. The final finish is a hand-rubbed natural Danish oil.
He’s asking $500 for the horse (yes it’s worth it! -- he puts in incredible amount of time and some very nice materials into its construction). You can see his other wood projects online by googling "prairie's end" -- his work is at the top of the list. |
