Beautiful lizards with bright orange and/or brown spots. As the temperature warms up, their spots become brighter and brighter. Conversely, as the temperature goes down, their skin (minus the spots) becomes fuller and fuller. Bright colors and patterns can be seen everyday with the simulation of day and night in a desert terrarium.
Leopard Lizards get between 7-9" long not counting their tail. In some cases, their tale can be as long or maybe longer than their body and therefore a nice wide terrarium is preferred.
Leopard Lizards like to jump and occasionally get the high ground so it's nice to have a tall rock outcrop in the terrarium as well.
Being desert dwellers, they like a 90 degree environment under a basking light during the day along with a cool spot they can go to. |
