Good solid firewood available from time to time as we remove various trees from our 2-acre wooded property.
The concept is that, in return for a little effort and healthy outdoor exercise cutting up and loading the stuff on your truck or trailer, and splitting to your desired log size when you get it home, it's yours FREE.
You must clean up any mess related to the firewood, you must be careful not to damage our property, and you must be reliable, coming when agreed to pick the stuff up.
If this ad is active, it means we currently have at least a face cord of firewood available. You must agree to take everything currently available, to a maximum of 4 face cords. (Multiple trips are allowed)
The product varies... usually sugar-maple, oak, and/or basswood/linden always fresh, sound, usually "green" or seasoned at most 6 months. Usually NOT split. The logs may or may not already be cut to manageable lengths, usually multiples of 16 inches (ie 16, 32 or 48 inch logs) Often the wood is of extremely high quality and could be used for wood-carving (especially the Basswood/Linden and Maple) instead of firewood.
Usually the tree(s) have been felled and often cut into long sections. You will need to have your own chainsaw to cut the sections to your desired log-length or to lengths feasible for loading on your vehicle. In some cases the tree(s) are limbed and the brush already discarded. Occasionally the deal will include you doing your own limbing and dragging any branches you don't want to take for kindling, to a nearby pit on our property. Usually the wood is very accessible, close to a pathway or to the driveway. If the wood is more than a few feet from a roadway or vehicle access point we can lend you a wheelbarrow and/or appliance dolly to make collection and loading easier.
We will NOT be liable for any personal injury, nor any damage to your equipment or property while gathering and loading the wood.
Do not expect any help from us... bring your own helpers!

The wood is located just south of Perth Ontario, about one hour's drive from Kanata (Western Ottawa).
We must be there when you collect the wood so it's by appointment only. (Security systems on the property)
