That a proper sized mortar and pestle is a very very useful addition to your kitchen.

These authentic granite mortars and pestles are made in Thailand. They are the most popular size which is 8" in diameter, and at 7" high they are extra deep so ingredients wont easily fly out as often happens with the shallower mortars normally available in some places.

Forget the small marble "toy" mortars you find in kitchen shops, it is the weight of the pestle that should be doing the work, not you! The pestles with these Thai mortars are of excellent weight and balance, making them faster and easier to use that anything we have came across previously.

A mortar of this quality will normally last a lifetime or more. Priced at $50 each + tax they are excellent value and a welcome addition to the kitchen of more experienced cooks.
