 | This is a 10 week old puppy from a "designer mutt" farm in Kelso. His mom is a 5-pound Chihuahua and his dad is a 5-pound Maltese, and so the breeder projected his adult size to be 5-pounds, also. I drove down to get him yesterday and then back for a late afternoon vet appointment in Seattle the same day. He checked out completely healthy. However, I panicked when his weight came in at 4.2 pounds, which the vet predicted would lead to at least an 8-, and probably more like a 10-, pound adult. I cannot have a dog this size in my condo! And for other reasons, he will be too big for me.
This boy is such a darling -- cuddly and calm. He is not barky at all, and is already trying to use the papers I have set out. (Breeder said he was using a litter box, so I have both out.) He should be easy to train for indoor only, if that is your intention.
I was very drawn by this particular mix of breeds. My previous dog was purebred Maltese and I wanted the low-shed, hypoallergenic aspect. This guy has an adorably scruffy mix of long and short hairs, black and white patches with expressive brown eyebrows. I just learned to use my digital camera today, so, believe me, the pics do not do him justice!
The puppy comes with a complete vet check (you may call him) and lots of extras, including food, pads and his tote.
