COMMENTS: The stone is exceedingly clean, transparent, with absolutely no color banding. Well cut en cabochon, with no blemishes, and a beautiful polish with a very rare shimmer.

Here is a very phenomenal natural citrine where the gem rough was mined from Olkhovka, in the Polar Urals of Western-Siberian Region, Russia. This super rare gem has a natural yellow color with a phenomenal shimmer under light (like a moonstone shimmer) that is "un-treated", as the majority of all citrines are heat-treated amethysts or smokey quartz's, which is around 90% of the so called citrine on the market. ((Natural citrines are rare but still inexpensive, and almost all citrines that have been heat-treated have a reddish tint (Madeira color). The so called Ore Verde Citrine (greenish hue), which is just plain quartz that was color enhanced! This natural phenomenal citrine is super rare due to the fact as their has not been any production of citrine really since 1985 in Russia, and because it has a rare shimmer that is not commonly seen in citrine, "Very explosive shimmer under direct sunlight".)) You very seldom find Russian citrine, as it is old stock (as this material) and is virtually never appears on the market or in collections. VERY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN JUST IN SMALL SIZES!! **Please understand that citrine is not a commonly occurring crystal. Most of the world's supply comes from the Sapo mine in the Doce valley of Minas Gerais, Brazil, but mainly the Serra & Ira' mines in the Gaúcha range of the Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil which produce a combined 400 kilos per month of hammered goods.** This citrine has a spectacular luster and cut with absolutely no color zoning. This rare find would make an excellent gem for a serious collector out their or even a very sweet pendant or better. This gem runs no less than $10 to $15 per carat for this color, cut, clarity, and carat weight from a jeweler or gem shopping network, and that's if they even carry one, especially from this rare location.
