Amazon Product Description
Norton AntiVirus is one of the world's most trusted antivirus solutions. It's always working in the background to protect your PC from dangers lurking on the Internet and other possible sources of infected files. Now it repairs common virus infections automatically, without interrupting your work. The latest virus definitions are downloaded automatically when you connect to the Internet, ensuring that your PC's protection stays up-to-date.
Even between updates, Symantec's exclusive Script Blocking technology defends against fast-moving threats by identifying and stopping new script-based viruses, such as the I Love You and Anna Kournikova viruses. To safeguard your PC and prevent it from spreading viruses to your friends and colleagues, Norton AntiVirus scans and cleans both incoming and outgoing messages.
As a Norton AntiVirus user, you're also backed by the Symantec Security Response team, formerly known as the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center. These experts are working to protect your computer 24 hours a day, developing new defenses whenever a virus is discovered. A new user interface makes Norton AntiVirus 2002 easier to use, and you can even access many of its functions instantly from the Windows Explorer toolbar. Protect your PC today with Norton AntiVirus.

Amazon Review
A PC without virus-protection software is like a body without an immune system. Norton AntiVirus 2002 takes the place of T cells and antibodies as it monitors new and old files for viruses using its constantly updated definition list. Perfect for beginners and intermediate users, it offers simple installation and nearly transparent use, requiring only a few bits of information to start and occasional requests for user action when viral activity is suspected.
The interface is intuitive, appeals to common sense, and doesn't assume its users have a thorough background in computer security issues. Like all antiviral software, Norton has some quirky, unpredictable interactions with other programs and operating systems, especially newer versions like Windows XP. These are generally caught and patched quickly, but have caused some users grief; this can be compounded by Norton's inconsistent customer service.
Still, the horror stories pale in comparison to the real risk of damage caused by increasingly sophisticated viruses, worms, and Trojan horses roaming the Internet. Norton AntiVirus 2002 will give most users the security they need with almost no hassle. --Rob Lightner

Amazon Review
The 2002 edition of Norton's AntiVirus retains the strengths that make it one of the best antivirus products on the market--low demands on system resources coupled with impressive strength against incoming and outgoing viruses, worms, and other malware.
The new version sports a revised and more simplified interface and it integrates into Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer as a small toolbar that can launch a virus scan on your system or connect to information on Symantec's Web site. With the rise of e-mail worms and Trojan horses, just scanning incoming mail is no longer enough, so Norton now scans outgoing mail to prevent your system from sending worms to everyone in your address book. Another new feature is script blocking, which promises to block script-based viruses, such as the I Love You virus.
The program largely runs itself. By default, infected files are repaired automatically without alerts to users. A pop-up box on the Windows taskbar tray informs you when an update has been completed. An optional plug-in scans Microsoft Office 2000 and XP files on opening. Virus definitions are updated automatically via the excellent LiveUpdate. LiveUpdate now uses "micro" definition files that supplement existing files and don't require huge downloads. Curiously, Norton AntiVirus still doesn't scan ZIP files, something that rival products have been able to do for some time now. If you are upgrading to Windows XP don't delay--purchase Norton AntiVirus 2002. --Roger Gann,
