Here is a phenomenal natural untreated South African golden Tiger-Eye pendulum with a pronounced (defined) tip, where the rough was mined west of Griquatown, South Africa. -- **THIS MATERIAL WAS PAINSTAKINGLY ACQUIRED IN 1997 IN GRIQUATOWN. IT CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT AND AT TIMES SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE TO EXPORT ROUGH MATERIAL OUT OF SOUTH AFRICA** -- Tiger eye has a fibrous structure and in the lapidary shop must be oriented properly to get the chatoyance and/or the "cats eye" effect. Cuts must be exactly parallel to the length of the fibers to get the full chatoyance. If the saw cut is perpendicular, or 90% off the fibers, you end up with a lifeless, dark brown to black stone with no chatoyance or light play at all. Orientation of cutting is critical to getting good chatoyance and color out of tiger eye. We are talking a very magnificent top end gem pendulum here my fellow members! This gem pendulum has a remarkable color blend & luster known for this material. Excellent face up and eye appeal! Would make a excellent gift for that some one special or for a gemstone healer/healing.
