Ray's trio came to the attention of Jack Lauderdale of Downbeat and later Swingtime records after Mr. Lauderdale heard Ray's new pre recorded version of "Baby Let Me Hold Your Hand" and after hearing this exact demo reel which was originally recorded for Quincy Jones around 1958-59.
